Calligraphy

Calligraphy is an incredibly beautiful form of writing that creates a stunning visual art. Calligraphy has been used for thousands of years to decorate ancient manuscripts, religious writings and important documents. Many different cultures around the world have used calligraphy when creating documents and important writings, using it to embellish or signify the importance by spending hours decorating a few simple words. Calligraphy is still used today, and there are many different forms, most based on older, historic methods of writing in such a style.

The variety of styles have been used for many different forms of writing. Western calligraphy is based on the Roman alphabet, using letters and text that we are familiar with today. The shapes and flow of the text can vary a great deal depending on the region that the calligraphy was produced, but is easily recognisable. Other cultures, such as the Arabic nations have used calligraphy for hundreds of years, with the practice still in use today. Arabic calligraphy was also used to produce extensive collections of art, as well as annotating religious texts. East Asian writing also uses calligraphy to both communicate and to create beautiful pieces of art. In Asia, script is produced by creating intricate images rather than simple letters. These are known around the world to produce beautiful artworks, which are valued for aesthetics as well as their literary value.

Beautiful calligraphy can be created with very few tools. It is important to use a good pen or brush, as well as high quality paper. This means that you will get clean lines and that the ink will flow well. Calligraphy has many applications in the modern world. Kits are available from most arts and crafts stores, allowing you to get quickly starts on your new hobby. Most notably, people will pay a great deal of money for documents to be written, for artwork and even to address and write items such as wedding invitations. The use of calligraphy demonstrates a certain level of class that many people like to attach to their events!
