Crochet

Crochet is an art that has been in use for thousands of years throughout the world. This type of creation of a material by hooking yarn and fibres together has providing clothing and fabrics for living for many different cultures. Each culture has their own techniques and designs, making wonderful pieces of crochet that are desired by all. Many different patterns can be created. From large knots and loops to intricate, detailed pieces, crochet is used for many different purposes. Crochet is used to not only make items but decorate and adorn accessories and furnishings. Anyone can enjoy crocheting wherever they are. Like knitting, all you need is a needle and your yarn and you are ready!

Crochet can be very simple to create. By using a simple crochet hook and a selection of yarns and fibres, anyone can create a crocheted piece of apparel or art. Quite simply, a loop is made in the yarn and further loops are passed through this to create a string of crochet. By increasing the rows of the yarn, large pieces of crocheted fibre can be created. There are a wide range of arts and crafts stores that provide a huge amount of supplies for crocheting.

The needles come in different sizes that produce different sized loops and finer or larger patterns in the yarn. There are also infinite yarns and fibres that can be used. Created from many different wools and fibres, the possibilities are endless when it comes to crochet. There are books and websites full of patterns that will help you to learn new techniques and crochet new patterns. The arts and crafts stores here will be packed with new and interesting designs to guide you as you create your next project.
