Scrapbooking
Scrapbooking is an increasingly popular arts and crafts that is used to collate information and memories in a highly decorative way. Scrapbooking is a method of keeping a journal or diary to document events, milestones and even holidays using many different materials. Materials include photographs, mementoes and notes, all collected together in a book. The scrapbooking market is also highly profitable, with there being a very high demand for high quality resources to use in scrapbooking. Photos and trinkets are secured into the scrapbook together with decorative items and borders, creating very aesthetically pleasing layouts.
Scrapbooks can be created to follow particular themes or interests. One of the most popular is used to commemorate a person’s birthday, or for young children, their first year. These are then presented on their birthday and are often very well received. Parents in particular enjoy scrapbooking to mark the milestones in their child’s development, including first tooth, lock of hair and feet and hand prints. Decorating the scrapbook using common scrapbooking techniques such as paper crafts, rubber stamping, calligraphy and decoupage means that a range of materials are used, producing very unique scrapbooks.
Many people find scrapbooking therapeutic, and often record important events or times in their lives. By recording in such a way using visual cues and trinkets means that many memories can be recalled and maintained. Scrapbooking is also a creative outlet, allowing you to create your own very personal works of art. Few items are required to start scrapbooking and many things can be recycled, but there is also a huge range of items available. Many embellishments cab be used to create your perfect scrapbook!
